Aiv: Feltham Sixth Form College – The story behind the foundation of a pioneering sixth form college in an historically underserved borough of London

Opened in 2022 to transform the outcomes for the local community where only 20% of young people go on to higher education, Hampton School and Lady Eleanor Holles worked with state sector Multi Academy Trust, Reach Schools to launch Feltham College, an innovative partnership of education, business, and health service providers. Already oversubscribed, this September, Feltham College celebrated the first full cohort of pupils achieving exceptional A Level results. Hear from some of the leaders behind the college concept, the state and independent sector collaboration, and the lessons learned along the way. Children’s Commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza, has praised the innovative model of post-16 education as: ‘an excellent example of what can be achieved when the state and independent education sectors come together – uniting resources and expertise to support young people who deserve every opportunity to fulfil their hopes and ambitions.
